In A Heartbeat
Foundation
Mike Papale founded the 501c3 In A Heartbeat Foundation in 2015, with a mission to prevent death from sudden cardiac arrest and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM).
Folded into that mission: raising funds for and awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and HCM, educating the public about the life-saving importance of CPR and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), offering free electrocardiogram (ECG) screenings to all ages, providing emergency training and donating AEDs to schools, businesses, families, and organizations of all sizes—with a goal of installing an AED in every building in America.
To date, In A Heartbeat has raised over $300,000 for its programs, contributed $35,000 to support HCM research, provided more than 1500 CPR and AED trainings, conducted 1200+ ECGs, and donated nearly 200 AEDs to schools, businesses, families, and other organizations in need.
